Biografie

Bastian first studied “Chemistry & Biotechnology” at the University of Applied Science Niederrhein, while at the same time he absolved his vocational training as a chemical lab technician at Lanxess AG in Krefeld-Uerdingen and Leverkusen. In his Bachelor-Thesis he investigated chemical optimizations in industrial manufacturing in organic compounds. He was graduated in 2016.
For his master-studies in chemistry Bastian moved to the Heinrich-Heine-University of Düsseldorf and carried out his Master's thesis under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Laura Hartmann in cooperation with Lanxess AG, working on the development of new, green flame retardants for polymers.
In 2020 Bastian joined the Group of Stefan F. Kirsch for his PhD. He is working on polymeric rubazonic acid related macromolecules as well as possible modifications of this highly interesting kind of dyes.
